What do I need to do in the attic?

  • 1 of 24: First things first -- you'll need some light.
  • 2 of 24: This isn't the dark ages -- the room has electric lights.
  • 3 of 24: Look for the switch just to the right of the door (as seen when looking at the door from the inside).
  • 4 of 24: The ultimate goal is to use the attic as an alternate way to get inside Barbora's apartment.
  • 5 of 24: Perhaps if the attic had a window...
  • 6 of 24: ... well, actually it does, only it's rather hidden at the moment.
  • 7 of 24: The window is hidden behind the wardrobe.
  • 8 of 24: Something rolled between a crack in the floorboards when you moved the wardrobe, and you will not be able to progress from the attic until you retrieve it.
  • 9 of 24: You don't need any special tools -- just left-click on the darkest part of the floorboard (near the middle of the room).
  • 10 of 24: Okay, now you can get down to the business of breaking out of here.
  • 11 of 24: You'll need to break the window -- but in a way that Martin won't cut himself.
  • 12 of 24: Look around for something that can protect his hand so he can use his fist to smash the glass.
  • 13 of 24: A rag would work.
  • 14 of 24: Martin would cut himself if he tried to get through the window with those shards of glass still there.
  • 15 of 24: The glass shards can be removed if Martin protects his hand...
  • 16 of 24: ... using the rag again.
  • 17 of 24: Okay -- the window is ready.  Now to figure out a way to safely climb out.
  • 18 of 24: Perhaps Martin could rappel down the outside of the building.
  • 19 of 24: To do that, he'd need some basic equipment.
  • 20 of 24: In particular, he will need a rope.
  • 21 of 24: The rope will be used to climb down from the attic to Barbora's apartment.
  • 22 of 24: To do that, it will need to be anchored firmly in the attic.
  • 23 of 24: Notice the beam supporting the ceiling?  If you could tie the rope to the beam, that would provide a good anchor.
  • 24 of 24: Next, click on the window, and Martin will climb down to Barbora's apartment.
