How do I open the door at the bottom of the stairs?

  • 1 of 16: You'll need to do an examination of items in the room for clues.
  • 2 of 16: If you look around, you'll see many references to water...
  • 3 of 16: ... including a stone sink suitable for holding water.
  • 4 of 16: Perhaps water is the key.
  • 5 of 16: Once you have the water, go ahead and pour it into the stone sink.
  • 6 of 16: Just pouring the water in doesn't seem to do anything.  Can you think of anything in this room that could possibly interact with the water (indirectly)?
  • 7 of 16: Notice the small opening on the wall (higher up, to the left of the sink)?
  • 8 of 16: Finally, after all that -- go ahead and pull the lever.
  • 9 of 16: Hmm...  Seems the sink leaks.
  • 10 of 16: Ready to try the repaired sink?  (Don't worry, your repair work will be safe, this seems to be some sort of "instant dry" plaster.)
  • 11 of 16: Pour the water in...
  • 12 of 16: ... and pull the improved (hammer) lever.
  • 13 of 16: Perhaps you were expecting something a bit more exciting to happen?  You're not done yet.
  • 14 of 16: Believe it or not, you will need to disturb Pedro again...
  • 15 of 16: ... for some more water.
  • 16 of 16: Pour another bucket of water into the sink, and pull the lever.
