Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals Hints
How can I paint the portrait?
of 16: Despite the fact that Alcien is a painter, he's going to need a little help to paint a good enough picture of his father.
of 16: What's an easy way to make a copy of a picture?
of 16: How about tracing it?
of 16: The projector might be part of solving this puzzle.
of 16: See how the projector is shining an image of Nikopol's father onto the screen?
of 16: It's a shame we're not painting onto the screen.
of 16: You need to shine the image onto the canvas instead.
of 16: Set up your easel and canvas, then rotate the base of the projector until it points your father's visage onto the canvas.
of 16: You can now use your painting kit on the canvas to paint the image of your father.
of 16: In order to paint it, you need to choose the correct shades of black, white, and gray to create a faithful likeness of the black-and-white projection.
of 16: It's fairly obvious which shades to use.
of 16: His hair is clearly black. So, use the black paint on the hair.
of 16: His shirt is clearly white. So, use the white paint on the shirt.
of 16: The darkest shade of gray should be used on the shadowed area. Use it on his jaw line and chin.
of 16: The middle gray is used on the bottom half of his face -- his stubbled area. Use it on his upper lip.
of 16: The light gray fills in the rest of the gaps -- use it on his forehead to fill the rest of the face.
