Nine: The Last Resort Hints

The Notation Boxes (Half-Shaded Squares)

  • 1 of 6: These squares are often found above a grouping of 3 letters or music symbols on a notation sheet.
  • 2 of 6: By now, you should have deciphered at least SIX of these notation squares.
  • 3 of 6: There are small hints about what the squares represent on each of the music notation sheets you found scattered throughout the house.
  • 4 of 6: But the real solution to deciphering the boxes is found in the Tool Shed of the Race Car Room.
  • 5 of 6: Completing the addition table and reading Thurston's notes written on this page will allow you to decipher most of the notation boxes.
  • 6 of 6: Don't worry about the two other possible boxes that you cannot find a code for (the top-half shaded and the left half-shaded).  These notation boxes are not used in Nine.
