Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark Hints
How can I figure out which ice prison is the Knower of Names'?
of 10: The Knower of Places gave you a clue.
of 10: Consult your journal under the "Escape from the Hells" quest to remind yourself of the Knower of Places' riddle.
of 10: It starts out by saying, "Time is a twelve-spoked wheel." What might that correspond to?
of 10: If you look at your automap after running around the NW area, you'll see that the ice prisons form a sort of circle, and there are twelve of them!
of 10: The next line says that in the passing of seven spokes, a hole was dug and a devil freed. Have any of the prisoners been freed without your help?
of 10: Sure enough! One of the prisons on the east side of the circle is empty. That must correspond to the number 7.
of 10: The last line of the riddle says that if the digging had been done 16 spokes sooner, it would have uncovered what you need. That must mean the Knower of Names!
of 10: So count 16 back from where you now know the 7 to be.
of 10: Since this whole thing is likened unto a clock face, "back" must mean counterclockwise.
of 10: If you count it correctly, you'll find that the Knower of Names is imprisoned in the central of the three northern prisons.
