How do I free the formian queen?

  • 1 of 8: First, you have to find her.
  • 2 of 8: She's being held in the large cavern that's all the way south from the exit that leads back up to level 2.
  • 3 of 8: When you open the door to enter that cavern, a short cut scene will start up that shows you running into the cave and the drow getting into position to attack.
  • 4 of 8: If you have any desire to take most or all of the drow and minotaur force down with ranged attacks, press ESC during the cut scene. If you don't, you'll regain control to find yourself surrounded by drow.
  • 5 of 8: After you go all through the huge formian slave labor area and kill and loot all of the drow, find the formian queen being held captive by some zappy sphere up on a raised ledge in the northern portion of the cave.
  • 6 of 8: To release her, simply hit the lever that's near the sphere.
  • 7 of 8: After she vanishes, you can meet with her again in a room to the east and gain her help in either fighting or avoiding the main drow camp.
  • 8 of 8: NOTE: It doesn't matter what you tell the formian queen that you're going to do regarding the drow camp. As soon as she leaves, you can either go to the NE corner of the room to get the formian guide to take you through their sneaky tunnel or you can head south into the big drow camp. (Or you can go through the tunnel and *then* go south to the drow camp.)
