Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark Hints
How can I restore magic to the Lower Tunnels?
1 of 7: By finding and deactivating the device that's maintaining the anti-magic zone.
2 of 7: It's the big obelisk up in the large NW chamber (location 4 on the Lower Tunnels Map).
3 of 7: Unfortunately, the main path up there leads through the bebilith's lair. A bebilith is a very large and powerful spider demon, and they're nearly impossible to damage without magic of some sort.
4 of 7: There is a way to get to the obelisk without going through the bebilith's lair, but not everyone will be able to do it.
5 of 7: If you have to go through the bebilith's lair, it would be best to just run past the bebilith and on into the obelisk chamber at first. Before you do, tell your henchmen to defend and only attack when you do, or just leave them behind -- you don't want them to get stuck fighting the bebilith. (On the other hand, you may end up needing to use them as a distraction while you run through.)
6 of 7: Once you're in the obelisk chamber, you'll have to figure out how to unlock the obelisk so that you can take its power core and deactivate the anti-magic field.
7 of 7: When the puzzle is solved, the anti-magic field will be gone, and you can click on the obelisk to open it up and take its core, which can be used to cast an anti-magic field around you up to three times (and this field won't affect *your* stuff). Note that the core doesn't seem to work anymore once you reach Chapter 3, so you might as well use it up in Chapter 2.
