Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark Hints
How can I get Gru'ul the Quarry Boss to let me shop at his store?
of 8: Talk to him about it in the quarry office.
of 8: He's all mad that grinder #5 in the quarry area isn't working anymore. Maybe you should investigate the problem.
of 8: The entrance to the quarry is at the other end of the office area, so go through it and have a look around.
of 8: You should soon find quarry grinder 5 on the lower ground. It appears that an imp worker has gotten his arm caught in it and fallen asleep.
of 8: Click on the imp to get some options.
of 8: The easiest way to solve the problem is to feed the imp through the grinder. However, this isn't the best way because it gives you less XP and an evil alignment shift.
of 8: Save your game and try to disassemble and then reassemble the grinder. This will require Dexterity and Intelligence checks, but they aren't very difficult, and you can always use potions and items for temporary boosts to help out. If you succeed, you get more XP and a chance to talk to Lazy the imp (which will gain you even more XP and some vital info about True Names).
of 8: Once the problem is fixed, return to Gru'ul and ask to see his store. He has some of the most impressive magic items in the entire game, including many +8 weapons and +10 enhancement items (like the wondrous Belt of Storm Giant Strength). He also has a vorpal longsword called Aramil's Blade, which costs over one million gold!
