Neverwinter Nights: Kingmaker Hints

Misc. Notes

  • 1 of 10: The local pay-for-healing guy is Dynschall LaVelisi in the Temple of the Nine Gods in the central part of North Cyan.
  • 2 of 10: To help you level up past level 3 quickly, you should go wander around the Emerald Hills and fight groups of random monsters for XP before doing any vote quests (or better yet, use the endless-XP glitch in the Helping the Hermit side quest).
  • 3 of 10: The grove you can enter from near the SE corner of the Emerald Hills is a safe place to rest, so you can go there when badly injured instead of running all the way back to the keep's temple for healing. The Empty Battlefield is also safe for resting except on the rare occasions when kobolds are attacking the gypsy caravan.
  • 4 of 10: The smithy shop in South Cyan is the best place to sell items at. Be sure to check the merchant tips in the general tips section of either the Shadows of Undrentide or Hordes of the Underdark hint files for details on how to maximize a merchant's buying prices.
  • 5 of 10: Some special shop items of note are the Amulet of Natural Armor +4, Dust of Disappearance, and Bag of Holding sold by the Kinthalis twins in the Empty Battlefield area; the Mirror Shield and the three "Greater" belts that the smithy shop sells; the Cape of Winter and Cold Tongue Bow sold in the quartermaster shop; and the Sash of Shimmering and Potions of Heal sold in the Mage's Tower.
  • 6 of 10: If neither you nor your henchmen can identify some of the items you find in treasure, pay Yenna in the Mage's Tower to identify them for you, since she only charges 75 gold per item instead of the usual 100 gold.
  • 7 of 10: There are magic mirrors in the Mage's Tower and the Guildhall that allow you to teleport between those two locations.
  • 8 of 10: You can donate gold to the beggars in South Cyan to get good alignment points. This can be useful if you're trying to recover alignment after doing something that gets you evil points.
  • 9 of 10: You can also change your alignment by donating to the various shrines in the temple (and they don't even take any gold from you).
  • 10 of 10: To get an extra blessing from a particular temple shrine when you donate, you need to first speak with Dynschall LaVelisi about religion and tell him which god you follow. See the list below to find out what kind of blessing you get from each god before you decide.
