Neverwinter Nights: ShadowGuard Hints
How can I get the minotaur's brooch back for him?
of 9: After accepting Lightfingers' offer to pay you to retrieve the brooch, leave the tavern and go find Mylok, the guy who won the brooch from Ghan.
of 9: He's standing around near the SE corner of the Market District.
of 9: Talk to him and choose from the options you're given (which are basically to buy the brooch for 75 gold, try to spot it and pickpocket it, or intimidate him into handing it over).
of 9: You can also kill Mylok for it, but you can't just start attacking him -- you have to fail an intimidate attempt.
of 9: TIP: If you have too much trouble fighting him, run north so that Markius Albright and/or several guards will see Mylok and rush to attack him. (Though note that you get no combat XP unless you deliver the killing blow.)
of 9: However you get the soul brooch, report back to Tarin Lightfingers in the tavern.
of 9: He'll say to give it to Ghan, so talk to Ghan over in the nearby corner about it.
of 9: To get Ghan to accept the brooch, lie and say that you won it from Mylok in a fair game.
of 9: ALTERNATIVE: You could instead tell Ghan that you're keeping the brooch, and then sell it to any merchant for way more gold than Tarin was offering for a reward. Naturally, you'll get 5 evil alignment points, and Tarin will refuse to reward you (though you still need to talk to him).
