How can I bypass the runes of protection and use the conjuration phrase?
1 of 11: You'll need to find information on doing both of those things.
2 of 11: Start by searching the body of Zhiram, which is on the side of the Control Stone opposite Harkon.
3 of 11: The ledger in Zhiram's inventory has a poem in it that tells how to place the runes of protection.
4 of 11: As for the conjuration phrase, a high enough Lore skill will get it for you when you place your hands on the stone.
5 of 11: If that fails, try the library in the NW corner room.
6 of 11: Kill the Crimson Sorcerers who are browsing the stacks, then open the chest to find the book you need.
7 of 11: Once you use the Control Stone and utter the right conjuration phrase, you'll have to place the runes of protection according to the ledger's poem.
8 of 11: First, put your hand on the right rune and choose to place it in position nine.
9 of 11: Then put your hand on the left rune and put it in position one.
10 of 11: Finally, put your hand on the middle rune and set it to position zero.
11 of 11: You can order the stone to deactivate all of the constructs (golems) if you didn't sabotage them in a side quest earlier, but what you really need to do is lower the seals on the Market District gate and on Harkon.
