The Elven Test

  • 1 of 13: You have to finish "Spiders Infestation" in order to get this quest.
  • 2 of 13: Nimaldor's spirit gave you the key to the locked east room on the upper level of the crypt, so go unlock it.
  • 3 of 13: Behind that door is a pedestal that you need to get to.
  • 4 of 13: In order to reach it without taking any damage, first talk to your henchman and tell him to stay put for the moment.
  • 5 of 13: Then walk out to the pedestal by only stepping on tiles that have sizzly red energy blobs on them.
  • 6 of 13: Save your game when you reach the pedestal, then open it up and take the item from it.
  • 7 of 13: After you take the item, the red laser thingies will vanish, but that's not good.
  • 8 of 13: You need to walk back across using only tiles that did *not* have red laser dots on them before.
  • 9 of 13: If you forget which ones those are, restore your game and look at the lasers again and plot out a path before you take the pedestal's item.
  • 10 of 13: And do remember that once you reach the edge of the board, you can walk carefully along it to avoid being damaged or teleported.
  • 11 of 13: Once you're back across, you've finished the quest. Pick up your henchman again and head out.
  • 12 of 13: If you're a paladin, you'll get a bonus treasure chest with three pieces of great Valiant armor on your way out. Have it identified as soon as possible so you can wear it. It's terrific!
  • 13 of 13: NOTE: If you want to get Nimaldor's Longsword +1 and Longbow +1, now's a good time to do so. The bow is in the locked sarcophagus in his room. He'll attack you when you take it, so "kill" him and get the sword from his remains.
