Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints

Ao Encampment Notes and Extras

  • 1 of 4: Musharak sells lots of good magical equipment. One of the best items is the Boots of the Shifting Sands. If you don't have any Boots of Speed or other items that permanently Haste you when worn, try to buy these boots. They also give a great AC bonus despite the -1 Dexterity penalty. (Unfortunately, they'll probably cost about $100,000.) Also check out the Nightthief's Nimbleknife (the other Nightthief knife -- Torias sells the first), the Death Shroud Axe, and the Nomad's Ring.
  • 2 of 4: Musharak is also the very best merchant in the whole game to sell stuff to. I hope you saved up a lot of valuable items to sell him so you can buy those Boots of the Shifting Sands!
  • 3 of 4: Another Musharak fact is that if you talk to him about scrounging, you can pay him $100 to scrounge you up a magic item from nearby. Talk to him again to get him to offer you a magic belt for $40,000 (or $35,000 on a difficult persuade check). It'll be a Calian Belt, which has damage reduction +1 and can be used to cast Haste once a day. (Note that if you have him do the scrounging routine again, he'll just come up with another Calian Belt for the same price.)
  • 4 of 4: Talk to the Minister of Ao in the temple about the god Ao and how to become a follower. Take the wisdom test and choose any answer to be hailed by the three nearby mat-kneelers as the avatar of Ao. "Admit" that you're Ao and ask for gifts. You can then either talk to Telnix and accept his gift (the Cloak of Ao) due to his true understanding of your apathy, or you can talk to Talissica and Rifkin to get a Ring of Protection +3 and an Amulet of Natural Armor +3. You can't get all three treasures, so choose which ones you want. (If you just want to sell them to Musharak for money, then get the ring and amulet.)
