What can I do with this orb in the NE corner room of the ruins?
1 of 4: It claims to be a spell orb, so cast some spells at it.
2 of 4: If you cast three defensive spells at it, it'll transform into a staff that you can use to cast those same three defensive spells once a day.
3 of 4: This is meant to be for spellcasters only, but non-spellcasters can make a staff if they have various items like the Scabbard of Blessing and Gargoyle Boots that can be used to cast defensive spells. Use the items and then click on the orb. After doing this three or four times, you should get a spellstaff. You won't be able to use it, but you can sell it for several thousand gold.
4 of 4: NOTE: Be sure to get the neat Cloak of Arachnida off the green slaad who's also in the room. Wearing it gives you freedom of movement inside webs and increases your saving throws against poison, which will come in very handy in Chapter 2.
