Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints
Notes and Extras
1 of 6: Ashtara has lots of magical goods to sell, including many +3 and +4 armor and weapons. He also has a special weapon called the Club of Smiting that does extra damage against constructs, but don't pay $100,000 for it just to bash the Shield Guardians with (there's a much better item to use against them, and it's free). Magic-users should check out his truly vast collection of spell scrolls, and very rich bards can buy a special harp from him that can cast Greater Restoration (among other things). And check out his Magic Electrifier! It can recharge items by using energy stolen from other items.
2 of 6: Ashtara also sells the very useful Potions of Heal. They're expensive, but each potion can fully restore your hit points no matter how low they are. (In other words, they're like Greater Restoration scrolls, but without the ability to remove bad conditions.)
3 of 6: There's lots of really great random magical treasure scattered throughout the city, much of which is the best available in the game. Be sure to search every container of every sort that you come across, and check out my Boss Treasure List. However, note that not every unidentified item you find will be magical. A lot of it is old rusted junk that isn't worth much. Identify everything you find as soon as you can to avoid carrying around a ton of worthless items. (Also note that you can spot many of the junk items just by looking at their graphic -- rusted weapons will usually look rusted, for instance.)
4 of 6: There are lots of places in the city where spiders will suddenly drop down on you and surround you with webs. To avoid getting stuck, you should wear the Cloak of Arachnida or some other item that gives you freedom of movement inside webs.
5 of 6: The shrub growing at the SW corner of the Temple of the Winds (outside the temple) can be searched to find the Branch of Giving, which druids and rangers can use (and everyone else can sell).
6 of 6: In the many wishing wells in the southern room of the West Fragment, you can find several gems, including a diamond and two magic gems called the Gem of Seeing and the Gem of Brightness.
