How can I get past all the traps in the kobold cave?
1 of 12: It really helps to have Dorna Trapspringer along with you so she can live up to her name.
2 of 12: The first traps right near the kobold cave entrance are fairly standard and weak traps.
3 of 12: However, once you pass the chamber with the east and west rooms in it, the winding tunnel has different sorts of traps. (NOTE: The eastern room has a Shortbow +1 and Leather Armor +1 in containers.)
4 of 12: The first and third parts of the tunnel have traps that cause a ballista at the opposite end of the tunnel segment to fire at you. These traps are constant, and they don't go away unless they're disarmed.
5 of 12: NOTE: If you can't disarm the traps and don't want to take any ballista damage, you could try destroying the ballista with arrows or bolts before crossing.
6 of 12: The middle segment has some explosive barrels with darkness and fire magic that will be detonated by kobold archers when you approach them. Just rush on through as fast as you can for minimal confusion and damage. (Or just stand and shoot the barrels and the kobold archers yourself.)
7 of 12: NOTE: Throughout the cave, some of the crates you attempt to search will burst apart, revealing kobold slashers.
8 of 12: The big final trap is the treasure chest with the red arrows leading to it in the large NW chamber.
9 of 12: Whatever you do, don't just walk up to the treasure chest and open it. Four barred gates will rise up around you, trapping you in the room, and all of the kobolds from the four adjacent rooms will emerge.
10 of 12: One thing you can do is manually raise and then quickly bash the four gates that surround the treasure chest one at a time.
11 of 12: A better thing to do is to unlock or bash all four of the small locked doors leading to the kobolds' rooms, thereby allowing you to take them on a few at a time.
12 of 12: Once all that's done, it's safe to open the treasure chest, though all you'll find is a note calling you "stoopid" for being tricked.
