How can I best fight all of the "Ice Hounds" in the dragon's cave?
1 of 4: Use spells of elemental resistance if you have them to cut down on the effectiveness of the hounds' ice bolts.
2 of 4: When you come to the room with the big ox pen and a kobold named Klonk "The Freezer," it's best to quickly open the gate of the ox pen and stand aside as they stampede the kobolds. (Note that you'll take a bit of damage when opening the gate if you fail a Tumble skill check. Also, you may need to tell your henchman to only defend before you do this in order to prevent him from running after the kobolds.)
3 of 4: After all the Ice Hounds are trampled, search their remains for goodies. Klonk has a special sword called Klonk's Ice Blade and a Light Crossbow +1.
4 of 4: NOTE: You could then kill the oxen for about 100 XP each if you're level 5 or so. Unfortunately, they'll probably be way too tough for you. You could try retreating to the doorway in the cave's entry room so that only one ox at a time can attack you, but you'll still need lots of healing potions to stay alive. (Also try having your henchman be behind you firing arrows at the oxen.)
