Is there a way to talk to the kobolds to get what I'm after?
1 of 4: You'd better do as the door guard says and unready your weapon. (Bring up the inventory screen and remove it from the readied weapon slot, but do have it set to reready via a main quickbar slot.)
2 of 4: Then find Urko and his two lieutenants and talk to them about the situation and the artifacts you're supposed to retrieve for a main quest.
3 of 4: It seems that their little group got away with the mummified hand artifact.
4 of 4: It's best to save before negotiating, since you'll have to pass some hard persuade checks in order to get the mummified hand without combat.
