Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints
Hilltop West Notes
1 of 5: If you're of a class that can talk to animals, speak to the dogs wandering around south of Drogan's Home about things of interest to learn that Bethsheva, the she-wolf in Farghan's herbalist shop, has hidden a magic item as a sort of mating challenge. If you pass a persuade check with Bethsheva, she'll say it's a ring hidden in some stones behind the smith's shop. You can now search those stones to find the Ring of the Wolf (increases Animal Empathy by 2 and can be used once a day to summon a wolf).
2 of 5: On a similar note, talk to the chickens in the town's chicken coop and then search their watering trough to find a gem.
3 of 5: You can use healing kits or spells on the two badly wounded commoners in the Community Hall to heal them and get some XP.
4 of 5: Farghan the herbalist is the only merchant in the game who sells Greater Restoration scrolls. Those of you who played through the main NWN campaign will know how useful those are in big endgame battles since they remove most negative conditions and fully restore all hit points. The scrolls cost over $4,000, but you may want to buy one or two before you finish Chapter 1 and save them for the big endgame battle in Chapter 2 (or some other big emergency situation). On the other hand, you could wait and buy Potions of Heal in another chapter -- they're cheaper, and can also restore full HP (but not remove bad conditions).
5 of 5: Characters who are chaotic evil (or just plain greedy) can kill various people in all three Hilltop regions for fun and treasure. People with neat magical items that you can't get any other way include Fiona the smith, Szaren in his shop, the gate captain in Hilltop East, and Nathan Hurst in the Foothills.
