Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints

Hilltop Foothills Notes

  • 1 of 4: Another thing that speakers to animals can do is find the nearly dead bear and heal it. It's just north of the exit to Hilltop East, behind some trees. Talk to it and examine it to find an arrow, then remove the arrow. You'll get XP and all of the bears in this and nearby regions will be friendly to you automatically, which makes them great choices to use Animal Empathy on to gain allies. (Note that healing the bear with healing kits or spells doesn't work for this.)
  • 2 of 4: In the elven tomb, there's a statue at the west end of the upper level that will fully heal you when you pray faithfully to it.
  • 3 of 4: Also in that tomb, there are many sarcophagi and bones in little wall niches on the lower level that can be raided for cheap treasure and a bit of combat. (Watch out for the evil alignment shift if you're a goody-goody paladin or something.) One wall niche bone set that's a short ways south and west of the friendly spirit room (near NW corner) has Kilrav's Ring, which adds 1 to many rogue-related skills.
  • 4 of 4: At the Hurst farmhold, you can talk to the farm hand who's inside the house and get him fired by calling him a cowardly dog and then persuading Toli Hurst to get rid of him. This appears to do you no good at first, but try going north to the Nether Mountains area. If you walk right up to the kobold cave entrance and then go back to the exit to the Foothills, the farm hand and two bandit buddies of his will appear and attack you. Kill them to get a special magic greataxe called Frost Bringer.
