Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints
Where can I find all the Shield Guardians that Ashtara wants me to get rid of?
of 13: They're placed in most of the treasure rooms in the local four-fragment area, which is why Ashtara wants them gone -- he's hoping to loot the place, and they're in his way.
of 13: There's at least one Shield Guardian in each fragment, so start searching around the fragment areas for them.
of 13: Each guardian is a very tough golem to fight, so you may want a little help in doing so.
of 13: Before locating and attacking any of the Shield Guardians, head up to the North Fragment.
of 13: Run past any Shield Guardians that you encounter and make your way to the big NE room.
of 13: Inside it is a friendly golem called the Stone Butler that you can talk to for a few details of Undrentide history. (To get some bonus XP, talk to him about Heurodis and the Temple of the Winds.)
of 13: Then attack him to get his key.
of 13: The key will open the stone sarcophagus in the little NE closet in the butler's area.
of 13: Take the special Golem-Maker's Ring from the sarco -- it's your ticket to easy Shield Guardian victories.
of 13: NOTE: If you picked the lock on the sarcophagus or bashed it instead of killing the butler for the key, you can now use the golem maker's ring on him for an easy kill (he'll be hostile now whether you want to fight him or not).
of 13: Now go hunt down all ten Shield Guardians and use the ring's unique power on them to freeze them in place and drain most of their health. It'll be really easy to kill them after that, and you even get more XP for doing it that way!
of 13: NOTE: This ring is like the Mystra's Hand ring, so to make it work with the quickbar, drag it down to a quickbar slot, right-click on that slot, and then left-click on the ring's "unique power" icon. Now you can press that quickbar key to invoke the ring's power. Once you do, click the targeting cursor on a golem to zap it.
of 13: To see where all ten Shield Guardians are located, check the four fragment area maps.
