Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints
Can I use the Portable Door again after finishing this area?
1 of 6: You sure can! No matter what region you're in, you can use the Portable Door's unique power and click on a nearby empty floor spot to open up a door that leads to the shadow lair.
2 of 6: NOTE: The game may sometimes tell you that the floor spot you clicked on is an unsuitable location. If so, just try again in a spot near it -- you should get a shadow door within a couple of tries.
3 of 6: When you return to the lair, you'll find a friendly shadow servant standing near where the Shadow Lich was earlier.
4 of 6: Talk to the servant to learn that this is *your* lair now, and you can rest safely here at any time. That makes the Portable Door an invaluable resource, similar to the old Stone of Recall and Mystra's Hand ring. Any time you need to retreat from battle and heal up, use the Portable Door to flee to the shadow lair and rest.
5 of 6: NOTE: Opening a door in the middle of battle can leave you open to attack, so instead open one nearby before you start combat, and then run for it later if you have to. Unfortunately, using the door requires a dialogue box, so you may have the old "too excited to talk" problem when you click on it. (If so, wait a couple of seconds and try again.)
6 of 6: The shadow servant also offers store services, and charges far less than Ashtara does for supplies like Healing Kits +10 (though Ashtara will probably still be the best one to sell items to).
