Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide Hints
How do I get started on the quests around here?
of 11: When you begin the game, you'll be in your bedroom in the apprentice's quarters area of Drogan's Home.
of 11: Open up your footlocker and get all the items out of it. The ring and focus crystal are particularly important.
of 11: When you've got that, leave your room to meet up with three of your fellow apprentices.
of 11: After you talk to them for a bit, the evil forces that you saw sneaking up on Drogan's Home in the chapter intro will attack.
of 11: Your three companions will immediately use their Mystra's Hand rings to teleport straight to Drogan's side.
of 11: You can do so too if you want, but it's not necessary. You can save your one focus crystal by just finding the door that leads downstairs and taking it.
of 11: Also, you can take the time to loot the other apprentice's footlockers without being late for the battle.
of 11: NOTE: Two of the footlockers are locked (and one is also trapped). You can get the keys to those from the owners after the battle is over. Just have them join you as henchmen one at a time and take the keys from their inventories.
of 11: When you're ready to do battle with some kobolds, head into the main room on the main floor and start hacking away.
of 11: Once they're dead, talk to Ayala and Drogan until you get the first main quest, "The Missing Artifacts."
of 11: NOTE: If you press ESC during the cut scene of Drogan being attacked, you won't get to kill any kobolds. However, you'll get a bit more XP after talking to Ayala and Drogan than if you'd waited through the cut scene and then fought kobolds. (Level 1 characters, however, would be better off if they can manage to kill a kobold or two, since they get so much XP for each one.)
