Neverwinter Nights Hints
How do I keep the guardian armor in the Hold's main entrance from attacking?
of 8: Notice that they don't attack the instant you enter the room.
of 8: Also, they don't attack if you first enter their room through its north door (which you can do if you enter the Hold via one of its alternate entrances).
of 8: They're only set to attack you if you enter their room for the first time through the south door and then move toward the north door. (I guess if you enter through the north door, they figure you've already gotten clearance to be in the Hold.)
of 8: However, even if you do first enter their room from the south, there's a way to not only keep them from attacking you, but to also get them to help you fight the undead that Desther's been populating the Hold with.
of 8: Go outside to the Hold's courtyard and search around.
of 8: Search the corpse near the exit gate to find an etched gem.
of 8: Return to the guardian armor room and put the etched gem on the hand-shaped altar that's in the middle of the room. That'll get the guardian armor to teleport to various locations throughout the Hold and fight the undead.
of 8: NOTE: Even if you're level 8 or 9 by now, killing the four guardian armors can get you a lot of XP. They're very hard to beat, even if you draw them through the north door of their room so that they can't all attack you at once, but it's worth a try.
