Neverwinter Nights Hints

What final judgment should I render once I have the written oaths?

  • 1 of 10: Return to the Guardian's chamber and talk to it about that.
  • 2 of 10: When you're asked who you find guilty, you have up to four options (if you got Belial's testimony from Karlat's area).
  • 3 of 10: If you say that Quint is guilty, the town will be condemned to suffer at the hands of Karlat's and Belial's evil forces. (But hey, the quest is done, and you can go have fun fighting a bunch of red slaads and fire elementals in town.)
  • 4 of 10: If you say that Karlat is guilty, the phylactery will be destroyed, and both brothers will be put to rest. The village will be allowed to move on past this plane of existence, which is good. (NOTE: This is the choice that gets you the most XP.)
  • 5 of 10: The other two options are only available if you got Belial's testimony. If so, say that neither brother is guilty and present the demon's written statement.
  • 6 of 10: You can then decide what's to be done with the evil phylactery.
  • 7 of 10: If you say the Guardian should keep it, nothing will change, and Charwood will forever be stuck in the mists of timelessness. Bad choice!
  • 8 of 10: But if you decide to take the phylactery and guard it yourself, everything will turn out just great for Charwood, and you'll have a gadget that you can use to cast Sanctuary once a day. Cool!
  • 9 of 10: When you're through looting the castle, exit it by the door you originally came in to return to the town area, which is now just forest and a few ruins.
  • 10 of 10: The advantage of coming this way instead of using the Stone of Recall to zap out is that you'll meet the mayor's spirit and get a neat reward from a chest (if you made one of the two good judgments).
