Neverwinter Nights Hints
How do I solve the Riddle of Light?
of 19: This puzzle is actually very similar to the Riddle of Smoke, in that you're dealing with primary and secondary colors.
of 19: The scroll on the corpse near all the pools will give you a hint.
of 19: Start by clicking on the swirling colors pool in the center.
of 19: Take all of the colored gems from the pool.
of 19: Notice that there are two orange, two green, and two purple gems.
of 19: Now try following the scroll's advice.
of 19: Click on either of the primary color pools.
of 19: When it gives you the three primary colors (red, blue, and yellow) as dialogue choices, you can choose any one of them.
of 19: Then go click on the other primary color pool.
of 19: It will only give you two choices, since you can't choose the same primary color twice.
of 19: Now you need to place two gems, one in each of the secondary color pools.
of 19: Remember your art lessons about primary and secondary colors?
of 19: You combine two of the three primary colors to form one of the three secondary colors.
of 19: Here's the color combo list in case you forgot it:
of 19: orange = red + yellow purple = red + blue green = blue + yellow
of 19: So now do you know what gems to put in the secondary color pools?
of 19: Here's an example: If you chose red in one primary color pool and blue in the other one, you'd need to put one purple gem in each of the two secondary color pools (since red + blue = purple).
of 19: To do that, you'd first have to right-click on the purple gems in your inventory and choose to split them up.
of 19: Then go and put one in each secondary color pool to solve the riddle and remove the light lock from the vault room.
