1 of 2: The key Magda gave you will also open the shadow theater's exit door, allowing you access to the outdoor Shadow Mulsantir area.
2 of 2: That means you no longer have to wait until night for one of the outdoor Mulsantir shadow portals to appear -- you can use the portal in the Veil Theater at any time, then exit the shadow theater.
