How does the whole companion influence thing work?
1 of 6: You have a certain level of influence with each companion, which is expressed both as a number (from -100 to 100) and as a loyalty category (from disloyal to devoted).
2 of 6: You can gain or lose influence with companions when they're with you by saying or doing certain things.
3 of 6: Most influence changes happen during conversations, so keep an eye out for obvious influence-gaining dialogue topics.
4 of 6: You should talk to your companions frequently (right-click on them and choose "talk to") to see if you can get any influence-gaining dialogue topics that way. You often can.
5 of 6: Also, once a companion's influence is high enough, talking to him will get you a new feat that gives you some bonus effects.
6 of 6: If you can get a companion's influence level all the way up to 100, you'll be able to get the very best bonus feat from him.
