2 of 3: Doing so will reduce both your spirit craving and your spirit energy. How much each is reduced by depends on how much healing your party members need.
3 of 3: It can be really useful to use Bestow Life Force in the middle of a tough battle, since it'll fully restore everyone, including fallen party members. Just remember that it'll cost you a lot of spirit energy.
