Neverwinter Nights 2 Hints

Inventory Tips

  • 1 of 6: Always put your most important inventory items (like healing potions and favorite weapons) on the main quickbar for quickest access. For instance, if you have your sword as #1 on the quickbar and your bow as #2, you can quickly switch weapons by using the 1 and 2 keys.
  • 2 of 6: If you have an item in your inventory that you can't identify, try transferring it to the inventory of a henchman who has a higher Lore skill than you do. He'll automatically identify the item if he can, and you can then take it back if you want.
  • 3 of 6: If that doesn't work, and you don't have any items or potions that'll boost the Lore skill, you'll have to pay a merchant 100 gold to do the identifying for you. (Remember to *never* sell an unidentified item, since you'll always get ripped off bigtime.)
  • 4 of 6: It's usually best to gather all loot into your main character's inventory until he gets overloaded. Then distribute items to your companions to help lighten the load, and periodically sell off stuff you don't want to merchants. (See the Merchant Tips.)
  • 5 of 6: Just don't overload a companion that you depend on for melee combat, or he'll lag behind as you explore dungeons, and he may not be able to get into a fight in time to help.
  • 6 of 6: One great way to organize inventory items and lighten their weight at the same time is to get magic bags to put items in. See the list below for all the magic bags I've been able to locate.
