Neverwinter Nights 2 Hints

Merchant Notes

  • 1 of 12: Since Sand is now a henchman and not a merchant, he's got a merchant elemental set up to run his store. However, it gives really lousy prices on things, so don't ever sell anything to it.
  • 2 of 12: You'll have access to several good merchants after you start part 3 of this act, so you might want to save a lot of your valuable items to sell to them.
  • 3 of 12: Until then, sell whatever you want to get rid of to Fibba (west of Sand's shop), Repko the Weaponsmith, or Werth the Armorsmith in the Docks District, or Dawnbringer Natrisse in Blacklake's Church of Lathander.
  • 4 of 12: Also, if you've got the Blessed of Waukeen feat (see link below), you can check out a special set of items that Fibba has. I hope you've been saving up a lot of money!
  • 5 of 12: And don't ignore Fibba's regular inventory. It includes such wondrous things as the Axe of Dead Illusk (battleaxe with Fear and Vampiric Regeneration +3), Ripper (longbow that makes you immune to mind-affecting spells), Tansheron's Bow (shortbow with unlimited lightning arrows), and Wicked Union (scythe with Stun and Vampiric Regeneration +3).
  • 6 of 12: In the Blacklake District, Dayne Lynneth has a special set of goods he'll let you look at if you have the presell code thing (see above link about exlusive items). Included are the Falling Star (longbow with unlimited fire arrows), the Locust Crossbow (unlimited bolts +3), and Stirge (rapier with Vampiric Regeneration +5).
  • 7 of 12: Dayne's regular set of goods includes a Belt of Frost Giant Strength (Strength +4), the Bracers of the Blinding Strike (Haste and AC +4), and the Amulet of the Master (Spell Resistance 16).
  • 8 of 12: The very useful Ring of Regeneration +4 is sold by Nya in Port Llast. However, it'll cost about 90,000 gold! (Or about 77,000 if you have the special exclusive items feats.) Thankfully, you can get an identical ring for free by doing the "Disturbing Connections" optional quest. (Though you should still buy Nya's sometime when you can afford it.)
  • 9 of 12: Nya also sells an unlimited number of Potions of Cure Critical Wounds and Potions of Heal. When you can afford to, you should stock up on them and save them for the toughest battles. (Distribute a few to your companions just prior to those battles so they can use them when they get low on hit points.) Thankfully, Nya will remain available for merchant business until near the end of Act III.
  • 10 of 12: Haljal Throndor in Port Llast is the other guy (besides Fibba) that you can get special stuff from if you have the Blessed of Waukeen feat. His coolest special items include the Bow of the Black Archer (longbow with unlimited +2 ammo), the True Crossbow (light crossbow with Regeneration +3), Vile Drinker (greatsword with Vampiric Regeneration +5), the Whistling Sling (sling with unlimited frost ammo), and the White Dragon Bow (shortbow with unlimited frost arrows).
  • 11 of 12: Haljal's regular goods include the Blade of the Rashemi (+3 greatsword with Spell Resistance 16) and Tempertuppin's Ever Thrower (sling with unlimited fire ammo).
  • 12 of 12: Out of all that great stuff, the Bracers of the Blinding Strike and the Ring of Regeneration +4 will probably be the most useful. You'll want to get those before considering buying other expensive items.
