Neverwinter Nights 2 Hints
How can I upgrade the keep?
of 13: Approach its front door to find Kana and Master Veedle.
of 13: Master Veedle is the one you'll be dealing with on upgrading the keep, and Kana will help you manage the Graycloaks stationed there.
of 13: After asking Veedle about the four major sections of the keep area that need work, you can talk to him about upgrading a particular thing.
of 13: The upgrades are expensive, but the keep does start out with 70,000 gold in funds that you can spend on upgrades.
of 13: To talk to Kana about running the keep, enter it and find her in the first large room.
of 13: Anytime you want some detailed keep stats, ask her for a report on Crossroad Keep.
of 13: The best thing to do at first is tell her to have the men train and garrison the keep. Later on, you can have them do other things, such as patrol the roads and recruit new members.
of 13: Also, there are sometimes special missions available, or traveling adventurers that you can put to work.
of 13: There are many different ways you can handle your keep, and it's pretty much up to you how you want to do it.
of 13: An important thing to remember is that "keep time" passes every time you have Veedle or Kana do something, and then leave their area. That means you could tell Veedle to build something, go into the keep and tell Kana to train the men, go back outside and tell Veedle to build something else, go back inside and tell Kana to send the men out to get more recruits, etc. You can go back and forth and get lots done in very little real-time.
of 13: Also note that talking to Kana several times in a row, even without leaving and reentering the keep building, will sometimes yield several new developments.
of 13: You can, if you have a lot of money to spare, fix up just about everything in Act II, Part 3 before moving on to the "The Statues of Purification" quest.
of 13: However, keep time will "freeze" if it reaches 25%, which will stop you from accomplishing anything else with Kana and the Graycloaks until after you start Act II, Part 4. (This sort of things happens periodically until Act III, Part 4, when you can finally finish everything and get keep time all the way up to 100%.)
