Neverwinter Nights 2 Hints

Ruins of the Past

  • 1 of 12: You'll get this quest right after finishing "West Harbor Under Siege."
  • 2 of 12: Before you go after Daeghun's silver shard, you should hang around West Harbor and do a few supply-related things.
  • 3 of 12: At the Swamp Ruins, make your way along the winding path toward the ruins up in the NE corner.
  • 4 of 12: Along the way, you'll have to fight various groups of creatures, including lizardlings and swamp beetles.
  • 5 of 12: When you reach the ruins marked on the area map, go right on in (and equip a torch to help you see).
  • 6 of 12: Start fighting your way through the ruins, using the area map and the Quick Inspect key to help you find all the monsters and treasure.
  • 7 of 12: Rest in a cleared area whenever you need to heal up, and keep going until you reach the lizardling's ritual room at the north end of the map.
  • 8 of 12: When you open the door to the room and move in, you'll get a cut-scene and an opportunity to use diplomacy or bluffing to get out of a fight.
  • 9 of 12: After you win the fight or succeed in avoiding it, check the NE corner of the room for a chest.
  • 10 of 12: In it is the "Silver Shard: Health Bonus" item that you're seeking.
  • 11 of 12: Take it, then tell Bevil that you're ready to go in order to be transported straight back to Daeghun in West Harbor. (Or say that you want to explore some more if you haven't thoroughly looted the ruins yet, then talk to Bevil and tell him you're ready to go.)
  • 12 of 12: After you talk to Daeghun about the shard, you'll be in Act I, Part 2: The Journey to Neverwinter.
