The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

What good is being a vampire if there aren't even any quests?

  • 1 of 3: It's too bad that they didn't include vampire-specific quests like they did in Morrowind, but being a vampire is still often useful.
  • 2 of 3: In particular, becoming a fourth-stage vampire can really help in completing certain tough quests, such as many of the Daedric Shrine Quests. (It's interesting to note that you can easily become a vampire after doing Azura's quest, which is one of the lowest-level ones.)
  • 3 of 3: Since first-stage vampires take no sun damage and aren't shunned by anyone, it's not too inconvenient to play through the entire game as a vampire, feeding every now and then to stay at the first stage most of the time, and going without feeding for a few days when you need to toughen up for a hard quest.
