The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Where am I somewhat likely to find these items?

  • 1 of 11: If you have the Shivering Isles expansion installed, Earil in his shop in New Sheoth will have three top-level magic jewelry items in his inventory, which respawns every two days. That's by far the best place to go looking for Reflect Damage jewelry once you're level 20. Read on if you need to know of some places you can look in Tamriel.
  • 2 of 11: One place is in the Captain's Chest in the Serpent's Wake, which is part of the Anvil misc. quest "The Ghost Ship of Anvil."
  • 3 of 11: Wait until you're level 20 to start on the quest, then quicksave right before you enter the ship using the key Varulae gave you.
  • 4 of 11: Once inside, quickly open the door that's in front of you, grab the captain's key from the body on the bed, then open the Captain's Chest to see what you get.
  • 5 of 11: There's a 100% chance that the chest will have a piece of magic jewelry, but there's a fairly low chance that it'll be one that you want. Keep quickrestoring and trying until you get a good one, especially since this chest never respawns.
  • 6 of 11: Telaendril's Chest in Cheydinhal's Dark Brotherhood sanctuary works the same way, but you'd have to be level 20 or higher the first time you entered the sanctuary's Living Quarters area in order to have a chance at getting a 33% Reflect Damage item.
  • 7 of 11: The next best chest to try is in the Lake Arrius Shrine Living Quarters area. You have to be on or done with the "Dagon Shrine" Main Quest in order to reach this area.
  • 8 of 11: There's only a 50% chance that you'll find a piece of magic jewelry in this chest, but the good news is that it respawns every few days, so you can keep coming back for more!
  • 9 of 11: To get to it the quickest, enter the Lake Arrius Caverns and find the door that leads back to the Shrine Living Quarters.
  • 10 of 11: Quicksave right before you go through that door, then go through and turn left to quickly get to the chest.
  • 11 of 11: There are lots of other chests in houses and dungeons that have a much smaller chance of giving you good magic jewelry, but with the Lake Arrius Caverns chest, who needs 'em?
