The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
What's the best way to do all this while avoiding overwhelming combats?
of 12: Practice your Sneak skill way up so you can sneak past all the marauders.
of 12: In the Marauder Warlord's area, sneak up to him when he's standing in a dark spot and pickpocket the key you need from him.
of 12: When you reach the tomb room, sneak past the imps and grab the amulet from the coffin without them seeing you.
of 12: Stay hidden as Kalthar enters the area and attacks the imps.
of 12: They can't kill Kalthar since he's still an unkillable quest character, so wait until he manages to kill both of them.
of 12: Sneak up to Kalthar and pickpocket him to get his key, then go open the door leading out of the tomb room with the key.
of 12: Then talk to Kalthar to get a journal update and provoke him into attacking you. (This is essential to do now in order to be able to finish the quest later.)
of 12: Immediately run for the door you just opened instead of fighting Kalthar.
of 12: When you reach the Marauder Warlord's area, turn left and run for the passage that contains the shortcut exit to the main Fort Blueblood area.
of 12: As soon as you're there, hit the lever that opens the nearby gate.
of 12: While standing as close to the raised gate as you can, hit the lever again to close the gate, backing up quickly so that you'll end up on its other side.
of 12: When Kalthar shows up, he won't be able to get to you, and you can easily kill him with ranged attacks. (Poisoned bow shots work best.)
