The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Outdoor Trap Notes
1 of 7: When you see or hear large rocks rolling around nearby, stand back until they all stop moving to avoid getting crushed.
2 of 7: The spike traps look mean, but they usually trigger a bit too early, making them easy to avoid.
3 of 7: If you spot a prox mine at a distance, you can destroy it with a well-aimed arrow or offensive spell (like Flare).
4 of 7: When you shoot it, the mine will either explode in a big fireball, or it'll throw a small fireball straight at you. Be ready to dodge in case it does the latter.
5 of 7: You can try running up to a prox mine and hitting it the instant it jumps up into the air, but doing so will practically guarantee that you'll be hit by some fire damage.
6 of 7: You can take cover from a spinny-topped fireball tower by running right up next to it. It can't throw fireballs at you then, since the angle of attack is too steep for it.
7 of 7: Magic resistance helps with the damage from both the prox mines and the fireball towers, and a 100% Resist Magic (or Resist Fire) would make you totally immune to their damage. Or if you have 100% Spell Absorption, you can actually use them to replenish your magicka.
