Tips on Keeping Farwil Alive
of 9: One way to keep Farwil alive is to frequently cast a spell on him that restores his hit points. Such a spell can be custom-made at a spellmaking altar (see the Spellmaking Tips).
of 9: A much better (and easier) way to keep him alive is to never approach him or talk to him in the first place.
of 9: However, the two large war gates that block the walkway that leads to the citadel's front door won't open until after you talk to Farwil and he joins you.
of 9: So you'll have to find an alternate means of getting to the citadel's front door.
of 9: You can bypass the closed gates by getting out to the island that the citadel is standing on.
of 9: The gate-blocked walkway is the only safe way to do that, so you'll have to use the other nearby islands and take brief lava baths while traveling between them.
of 9: When you reach the citadel's island, heal up and jump up onto the walkway from over on its left side.
of 9: You can now enter the citadel, travel to the top, and grab the sigil stone without having to worry about Farwil getting killed.
of 9: Even though he never joined you, he and Bremman will appear next to you after you close the Oblivion gate and get sent back to Cyrodiil.
