The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Notes
1 of 4: Don't pick the lock on a basement door if Jakben or his servant can see you, or it'll get reported as a crime. Instead, pick all the locks you need to before finding Jakben.
2 of 4: Or pickpocket Jakben to get his house key, which will unlock many of the doors, including the basement doors.
3 of 4: Also, try to pickpocket any armor and weapons that Jakben has on him, though it may be impossible for most items (since they'll be both valuable and heavy).
4 of 4: You can pick open a locked desk in the small upstairs study portion of the Jakben's private quarters to find a book called "Imbel Genealogy." However, you can't do anything with it, even though you get a journal entry saying to show it to the Gray Fox.
