The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Teleporting Yourself Around
All three of the self-teleporting console commands from Morrowind are still available in Oblivion, but with some inconvenient differences.
Good old COC (CenterOnCell) now only takes internal code names (Editor IDs) of regions instead of their game-displayed names. For instance, to teleport to the Natural Caverns, you can't use coc "natural caverns", but instead have to use coc imperialdungeon05. That means you can no longer COC to an area based on the name you can see at the top of your local area map when you're there. PositionCell is in equally bad shape. It only teleports to indoor locations ("interior cells") now, and you have to use the above-mentioned internal code names for interior cells instead of their regular text names.
Thankfully, the COE (CenterOnExterior) command seems to be working just like always, though you need to be sure not to use it while inside a city. There's also a PositionWorld command that works like PositionCell, except that it'll teleport you to outdoor coords. To get your current position coords, first type sdt 0 on the console to set which debug text is shown, then use TDT to toggle it on and off. When it's on, you'll get lots of info such as the current cell name, its two-number grid reference, and the three coords for your exact current position (check the Pos field).
NOTE: There's also a special "movetoqt" command that will teleport you straight to the next "target" area of the currently active quest.
Below are lists of the PositionWorld grid coordinates for most locations in each area that I have a map for. To teleport to a location by grid coords, replace the X Y Z in the command below with the coords for the place you want to go. (Note that you can usually put in a zero for the Z value and still be okay.)
If you're irritated that there's no Mages Guild teleportation service in Oblivion like there was in Morrowind, make your own by using COC. Below is a complete list of Mages Guild building codes that you can COC to. Just make sure you're inside one Mages Guild when you use a code to teleport to another one. Doing it anywhere else would be cheating (I think).
The command "coc testinghall" (w/o quotes) will teleport you to a special testing hall area that you can have some fun exploring. It's full of special stuff the game designers left in the game's release version, and that can't ever be accessed without using the console.
