The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

How can I get to the citadel's front door?

  • 1 of 13: Go as far north as you can without stepping in lava, then look to the left and right for doors into World Breaker Guard towers.
  • 2 of 13: Enter either tower and ride its "corpse masher" up, then take the curvy ramp up to the top floor.
  • 3 of 13: There are two doors that lead outside up there, so go out through the north one. (The other door just leads to a short bridge that connects your tower to the parallel one.)
  • 4 of 13: Run along the bridge that goes north to another World Breaker Guard tower.
  • 5 of 13: Go down the curvy ramp in it until you reach another door that leads outside.
  • 6 of 13: Head north across a bridge, jumping any gaps you come to.
  • 7 of 13: TIP: The bridge that's north of the western guard towers isn't as broken-up as the one that's north of the eastern guard towers.
  • 8 of 13: Past the bridge, go north some more until you can get up onto a large east/west walkway with a guard tower door and a closed gate.
  • 9 of 13: Enter the tower and climb the curvy ramp to the top.
  • 10 of 13: There, you can use a large lever to open the gate outside.
  • 11 of 13: Head back down the ramp and out the door you entered the tower through.
  • 12 of 13: Go past the newly opened gate to find the front door to the World Breaker citadel tower.
  • 13 of 13: ALTERNATIVE: Go through the western guard towers, then carefully drop down to the ground when you come to the break in the bridge that's north of the second tower. Look nearby for the entrance to a cave called "The Smoke and Scorch," then enter it and make your way through it to one of the two exits that lead to the towers with the gate-opening levers. There's no real advantage to going through the cave except that you can pick up some good loot from its treasure pods.
