The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
What's one thing I can do?
of 8: It's the Thieves Guild you're trying to get the attention of, right? Well, steal something!
of 8: Actually, you can commit any crime in any city to get this started. Just make sure someone sees you do it so your bounty goes up.
of 8: The best way is to steal a very cheap item in a shop while the shopkeeper is watching you.
of 8: Find the nearest guard and tell him that you want to go to jail for your crime.
of 8: Use the sleeping mat in the jail cell to serve your time peacefully.
of 8: After you're let out, you should receive a message from a Dark Elf woman named Myvryna Arano.
of 8: The closer you are to the Imperial City, the faster Arano can get the message to you. In fact, if your jail time is spent in the Imperial City, you should get the message soon after you're released from jail (you may have to exit to the "City Isle" region). Otherwise, you may have to wait around for a few hours.
of 8: If she doesn't ever show up, try finding her house in the Imperial City's Waterfront area and waiting next to it (or going inside and talking to her if the door is unlocked).
