The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

Hard Difficulty Tips

  • 1 of 8: Since passing this test depends on you doing Cecia a certain amount of damage within the time limit, you'll have a *very* hard time of it if you're playing on or near the highest difficulty setting.
  • 2 of 8: You could keep doing the test over and over, since your Hand to Hand skill will be going up due to practice, and Cecia doesn't quite get fully healed after each round. You may be able to eventually win that way.
  • 3 of 8: Or you could push Cecia into the southern corner of his house (just to the right of the fireplace) by walking into him, then go into fight mode before talking to him. If you start punching him as fast as you can the instant the fight begins, he may not be able to go into Block mode, which will help you damage him more quickly. (Making this work may take several tries.)
  • 4 of 8: If none of that works for you, you'll have to attack him to get his health down before you talk to him and start the fight.
  • 5 of 8: The only good way to do this is to create a powerful Frenzy spell as specified in the Spellmaking Tips and use it to make him attack you.
  • 6 of 8: Hit him a few times to knock his health down, then wait for the Frenzy spell to wear off.
  • 7 of 8: Repeat if necessary, then talk to him about his fight test in order to get a very easy one.
  • 8 of 8: In fact, if you got his health low enough, he'll say you passed the test without you having to do anything at all!
