The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Glitch Note
1 of 4: There's apparently a programming oversight related to the number of open gates that hasn't been fixed yet.
2 of 4: When you close an Oblivion gate, the number of open gates isn't reduced like it should be.
3 of 4: That means that once the max number of gates are open, there's no way to ever get any more to appear anywhere no matter how many you close (unless the max increases, like after you finish the "Dagon Shrine" quest).
4 of 4: You could combat this with the PC console by typing in the command "set mq00.opengates to mq00.opengates - 1" (w/o quotes) every time you close an Oblivion gate.
