The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Bruma Recommendation
of 11: Speak to Jeanne Frasoric in the Bruma Mages Guild about "Recommendation" and "J'skar" to get this quest.
of 11: Your journal entry suggests you speak with the other mages here in the Bruma guild, so try that first.
of 11: The one you need to speak to is Volanaro, who can usually be found in his room down in the guild's Living Quarters area.
of 11: He acts suspicious when you ask him about J'skar, but won't confess the truth of the situation until you get his disposition up to 70.
of 11: Agree to go along with his prank, and he'll teach you an unlocking spell and say to steal Frasoric's Manual of Spellcraft.
of 11: Head back up to the guild's main floor, then climb the stairs and go through the wooden door to get to Frasoric's room.
of 11: Unlock the large desk however you want to, then take the Manual of Spellcraft from it.
of 11: Talk to Volanaro about the prank again to hand the book over, then come back and talk to him again after 10 pm.
of 11: Talk to him about J'skar to get him to remove the invisibility spell that J'skar has on him.
of 11: ALTERNATIVE: You can use a Detect Life spell to find J'skar on your own, and a Dispel spell to cancel his invisibility.
of 11: After talking to J'skar, report back to Frasoric to get your recommendation.
