The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints

The Elven Maiden

  • 1 of 15: Talk to Cristophe in the garden about "Thieves Guild special jobs" again after fencing a total of at least 100 gold worth of stolen goods.
  • 2 of 15: Since you're set to steal a bust of the late Countess of Cheydinhal, fast-travel to that city to begin your search.
  • 3 of 15: Find a beggar wandering the city during the day and ask about a bust of Llathasa Indarys.
  • 4 of 15: Hand over a bribe to learn that the bust you're after is in the countess' tomb, which is in the Great Chapel of Arkay's undercroft.
  • 5 of 15: Return to the Imperial City's Waterfront area no matter what the time of day is and go toward the garden to learn that the guards are looking for Cristophe.
  • 6 of 15: That makes it certain that he won't be in his house or the garden, so you'll have to figure out where he's hiding.
  • 7 of 15: But first, you'll need to get rid of that hot bust that's been causing all this trouble.
  • 8 of 15: After getting the journal entry about the Imperial Watch looking for Cristophe, just stand around and wait for Methredhel to run up to you and start talking.
  • 9 of 15: She won't tell you where Cristophe is hiding, but she will tell you what to do with the bust.
  • 10 of 15: She says Myvryna Arano is the informant who tattled to the guards, so break into her nearby house when you can do so without any of the nearby guards seeing you.
  • 11 of 15: Inside, sneak over to the cupboard that's just to the right of the bed and click on it to put the bust into it.
  • 12 of 15: Then sneak back outside and find Hieronymus Lex standing around imperiously somewhere nearby.
  • 13 of 15: After getting his disposition up to 75, you can talk to him about the bust and convince him that his precious informant, Arano, has it.
  • 14 of 15: After you accompany him into Arano's house, she'll be arrested and you and Cristophe will be in the clear.
  • 15 of 15: Meet with Cristophe in the usual spot during the next 12 am to 3 am time slot to finish up the quest and get promoted to Bandit (which allows you to sell to the second fencing guy, Dar Jee).
