The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
How can I get into the dungeon's cell area?
of 9: One way is to get caught committing a crime and tell a guard you want to go to jail.
of 9: Another way is to go to the Castle Skingrad courtyard and find the door that leads to the dungeon.
of 9: Inside, find the locked door next to a guard station. It's the one that leads to the jail cells.
of 9: Go into Sneak mode and move to where the room's pillar is between you and the guard, then cast a distance Open spell at the door to unlock it. The Warden Key power from the Tower Stone will do nicely. (Actually, no one cares if you unlock a door with an Open spell, so you don't really have to sneak while doing so.)
of 9: If you're a good sneak, you can go around behind the seated guard and pickpocket the door's key off of him.
of 9: The fourth possibility is to get a job that involves the prisoners.
of 9: Ask someone in the castle or dungeon area about "Work in Castle Skingrad" and then "Shum gro-Yarug" to learn that the orcish butler is looking for someone to hire.
of 9: Follow the quest arrow on your local map to find Shum so you can talk to him about work.
of 9: When you accept the job, he'll say that you can go to the dungeon and get the guard near the door to the cell area to unlock it for you any time.
