The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Unfinished Business
of 13: After you finish Azzan's first two quests and Burz gro-Khash's first quest, talk to either one of them to get this quest.
of 13: Then go talk to Vilena Donton in the Chorrol Fighters Guild about "Duties" to get referred to Oreyn, who's on the lower floor of the same building.
of 13: Ask Oreyn about "Duties," "Maglir," and then "Defaulted" to get sent to Skingrad to find out why Maglir defaulted on a Fighters Guild contract.
of 13: Go to the West Weald Inn near the NW corner of Skingrad to find Maglir.
of 13: Talk to him about "Defaulted" and "Brenus Astis' Journal" to learn that he was supposed to fetch a journal from a dangerous cave, but decided it wasn't worth it.
of 13: You could report this back to Oreyn, but he'd just send you to the cave after the journal, so you might as well head straight there.
of 13: Fallen Rock Cave is at location 11 on the West Weald map.
of 13: It's a fairly large and twisting cave, with a few falling rock traps in addition to undead- and critter-type enemies.
of 13: Make your way north to a huge cave room with a wide trench in the middle of it.
of 13: Drop down into the trench and go down the NW passage to reach a room with a dead zombie next to a nook with a treasure chest and a book in it.
of 13: The book is the journal you're after, so get it and then head back the other way.
of 13: You'll eventually find your way back to the exit, and you can then return to talk to Maglir, or go directly back to Chorrol and report in to Oreyn.
of 13: NOTE: If you tell Oreyn that Maglir was the one who got the journal, you won't get the Fame point for completing the quest, but you will get the gold. (And Maglir will be more cooperative in a future quest that he's featured in.)
