The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
How can I do this the sneaky ambush way?
of 9: Start by talking to each of the three battlemages about "Abilities" to see what each is best at.
of 9: Then talk to them about "Positions" to choose a position for each.
of 9: The best way is to have all three of them keep their distance so the necromancers won't see them until after they're well away from Silorn's entrance door.
of 9: After they all run over to their spot, go over there and talk to Thalfin again.
of 9: Then stand next to the large chunk of ruins nearest them so that the necromancer party won't see you as they approach.
of 9: When the battlemages see the necros and go into attack mode, rush out and start attacking Falcar right away. (He's the tallest one, with yellowish skin and fancier clothes than the others.)
of 9: He's a real chicken, and will probably start running straight back to Silorn's door as soon as you or your battlemages are spotted, so it may not be possible to keep him from escaping the ambush.
of 9: One way to stop him from getting away is to quickly hit him with a spell or poisoned arrow that will paralyze him.
of 9: Or if you're really fast, you could start running straight for the entrance to Silorn as soon as the battle starts in hopes of intercepting Falcar before he can get back inside.
