The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
Wayshrine List
When you get one or more Fame points, you can get a blessing once from each of the nine types of wayshrine. Once you get a blessing from one particular type of wayshrine, you can't get another blessing from any wayshrine of the same type until your Fame goes up again.
The game keeps track of which types of wayshrine you've received blessings from. After receiving a blessing from any wayshrine, you can get blessings from the city chapels' small altars that are of the same type (as long as your Infamy doesn't exceed your Fame). Also, once you've gotten the blessing from at least one wayshrine of all nine types, you'll receive a new once-a-day power that you can use to fortify all eight of your attributes by 10 points for 300 seconds.
NOTES:
* On the region maps, the shrines are shown as green triangles with numbers in them. 1 is for Akatosh, 2 is for Arkay, and all the way down to 9 is for Zenithar.
* In the list below, an (X) symbol is put after the location of a shrine that's wrecked by an Oblivion gate after you progress along the main quest series enough for Oblivion gates to start opening. The shrines can still be used after the gates are closed, however.
* The wayshrines will work a bit differently if you have the "Knights of the Nine" DLC module installed. They won't give you the regular blessing if your Infamy is larger than zero, and they'll reset your Infamy to zero when you complete a nine-shrine pilgrimage. (Such a pilgrimage is part of that module's first quest, too.)
